Reserving Judgement

I am only partially through and would feel better if I let the game flesh itself out a bit before I give it a proper review. So far so good! Nice soundtrack! Great Story!

Highest recommendation

A soothing, elegant game experience wrapped around a tale of pain, strength and wisdom. Congratulations from Montreal.

Beautiful.

If you were bullied, were a bully, or knew someone who was either, please play this game to the very end. Its not very long. I shed a cathartic tear at the words spoken in the end.

Wish there were more games like this

What? I didnt have to kill anything? And when I tried, it might have hurt me more than it helped? Its a dungeon (tundra?) crawler for people who like exploration more than formulaic combat. This games fun. Not long, and pretty linear with one clear story to follow, but its an interesting story, with playful twists. I liked it and kids would too. The makers get my applauds.

Developer Meeting

Issue 536: Game is kind of short Fix: Make the main character constantly trip over his own feet during normal movement, and tack on a really long animation of him getting up. Pat self on back. The devs actually spent time putting in a "feature" that effectively locks up the game for a bit every ten seconds. Absolutely amazed that reviewers let this slide.

A Wonderful, Unique Experience

This game was on my “looks interesting / someday” list but a recommendation from Touch Arcade forums pushed me to buy it. I’m happy I did. Wonderful art direction with a unique northern setting. Spirits of Spring manages to be educational and empathic at the same time, with an important message underlying its engaging, fairy-tale like story. A few unique game mechanics like intuitive movement, flexible chains of power and a cool later-in-the-game perk from the sneaky fox make it engaging to play as well. Like Shadow of the Colossus, this is a real experience with it’s own sense of time and place, and a true game as art. An extra shout-out for being from my home town of Montreal:)

Really great title

Fantastic game with true depth. I love everything this company makes.

Wonderful!

I really loved this game, and the underlying story it conveys. I would love to have seen perhaps a greater depth given to the complexities of the issues it addresses, but overall I think it is terrific in its used of gaming for storytelling.

AMAZING

I love this game. Probably the best game Ive ever played....

BEST GAME EVER!

I am very impressed with this game and its great quality when I first saw this game I was very interested in it and now I am very happy with my purchase. Its very hard to find games like this! The animation is great and it has a great storyline! I LOOOOVEEE THISSS GAAAMMMMEEE!!!!! I can tell that the people making this spent lots of time and hard work on it, this is my new favorite game! I have been playing this for a while and have experienced no glitches. Keep up the AMAZING work!

Short

AMAZING GAME. BUT. I finished it in less than two hours ..

Touching, challenging but easy

I completed to in a leisurely pace on a Saturday. Im so glad I did. Just for the music alone, which I would let play for long periods of time while I did other things. The Native American theme and story is very touching, especially if one of your totem animals is a bear. :) Loved it, I just wish it were longer so that I could live in the story for a bit longer. Great job.

Beautiful

The story of this game is short but absolutely touching. Its storyline alone is worth its price. As a game it is still very fun though short, so I hope it some day lengthened. Its concept of his powers could work in many add ons or sequels which I would gladly purchase!

Amazing experience

Awesome story , awesome music , and great graphics. Its a one of kind experience that Im glad I had the chance to play. Amazing job devs. PLEASE MAKE A SEQUEL !!!!!

Beautiful game

Its kind of creepy how the crow people killed the beavers and beat up the rabbit and bear. But other than that, it is a marvelous game

Very Good

Quite a nice gem. I liked the story, but what really got me was the art and the detail, from the hills and the trees, to the way the snow stirred in the air. How they designed the flowers and trees was an interesting choice. I also liked the animations. The music was good, and the narration a nice touch. The gameplay was simple, but still entertaining. The only thing I had issue with was the length. I understand it is an app game, and the ending did feel finished, but anti-climatic. I felt like it had a lot of potential to be much more complex. I suppose I wanted to see something more done with the power of the dark spirits and where that would take the character. Oh well, its an app game after all.

Disapointed

Every time I turn it off and go back to it it starts at the same place at the beginning. And...there r no instructions. Im mad.

Spirits of Spring

This game is not worth 5$. You get about 2 hrs if that before you beat the game.

Sweet fable

This is a short story about bullying. The game is simple, but the tale and the music are the stars of the show. Definitely recommended if you want something different with a good message behind it.

A pleasant surprise

This game didnt initially interest me, but I gave it a try on the basis of a Touch Arcade review - Im very glad I did. This is one of the most original and well produced iOS adventure games Ive played recently. The presentation, story, and music are superb. I see that some people found it to be short, but I thought it was just long enough to tell a good story, and I am glad it chose quality over quantity. The gameplay is simple enough, but it is the attention to details that makes this game shine. The animal characters have personality, the settings are well presented, and the protagonists struggle is touching. It is an original and engaging experience, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
